Welcome to the Brighton Little Theatre. We are a busy and lively theatre company, staging between ten and twelve productions each season (October - September), and in many respects run very much like a repertory company - with only 5 weeks for each production there is usually something in rehearsal!!
In September 2005, Brighton Little Theatre Company's world premiere production of Waiting for Gordo by Richard Heller featured on BBC2's Newsnight , the BBC Ten O'Clock News and on Radio 4's Today programme (and you can hear that report here).
The Current Productions section of the website provides details of all of the shows in the current season. Have a look, we can promise you an evening of entertainment as good as any professional company (and at a fraction of the cost!).
Brighton Little Theatre is one of the City's best and well-loved amateur theatre groups. Established 65 years ago (in 1940), we have staged over 650 productions ranging from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown to King Lear and Chicago to Three Sisters.
We usually stage two productions as part of the annual Brighton Festival Fringe which takes place in May. In 2007 we staged Merchant of Venice and Blue/Orange.
In recent years we have been privileged to perform at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall - a stunning open air theatre set into the cliffs near Penzance and Lands End. BLT won the Minack Trophy in September 2005 with Two Gentlemen of Verona and returned to the Minack in June 2006 with John Godber's Up 'n' Under. We also stage an annual production in the Gun Garden at Lewes Castle - again another stunning open air event!
In 2005 we celebrated our 65th Anniversary.
